Wikipad Tablet Coming to GameStop This October For $499, Pre-Order Now

Wikipad

The Wikipad tablet, famous for its detachable game controls, will finally be hitting retail on October 31. Priced at $499, the device will be available from GameStop stores across the United States, and you can get your pre-order in today.

As its detachable controls suggest, the Wikipad is aimed at gamers, and its internals prove it’s a capable gaming device. In addition to a 10.1-inch 1200 x 800 display, it boasts an NVIDIA Tegra 3 T30 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It’s powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (yes, Jelly Bean!), and supports Sony’s PlayStation Mobile — meaning you can play your favorite PlayStation Classics.

Other gaming services include Gaikai, and OnLive.

Those who pre-order the Wikipad are being promised “exclusive free, full-length game titles” by GameStop. Though it’s unclear at this point what those titles will be.

Will you be picking up the Wikipad next month?
