Itching to get your hands on the Nokia’s recently announced Lumia 920? If you’re living in the United States, there’s a possibility you’ll get one on November 2 — if you don’t mind joining AT&T. According to sources for The Verge, this is the date Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone 8 handset will be making its debut.
Nokia is aiming for a November 2nd launch of its flagship Windows Phone 8 handset in the US. Multiple sources familiar with Nokia’s plans have revealed that the company is currently working with Microsoft and AT&T to complete a number of tests required to sign the device off in time.
AT&T is already testing the Lumia 920 in its labs, according to the report, in an effort to ensure it’s ready for that early November launch. However, The Verge warns that this date isn’t “set in stone,” and there’s a possibility it will change if issues arise during carrier testing. One thing they are sure of is that it won’t be arriving before then.
The Lumia 920 is one of two Windows Phone 8 devices — the other being the Lumia 820 — announced by Nokia on Wednesday. And it’s the more advanced of the two, with a 4.5-inch 1280 x 768 ClearBlack display, a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, and an 8.7-megapixel rear-facing camera with Nokia’s impressive PureView technology.
Are you looking forward to the Lumia 920?
