Killzone Trilogy Announced for PlayStation 3

Sony has elected to add yet another option to their lineup of Trilogies and HD Collections; this time it’s Killzone.

The original Killzone launched on the PlayStation 2 several years back. Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, of course, were PlayStation 3 titles. The Killzone Trilogy will bundle each of those games together, bring the original title to 720p resolution and add in every map pack released for the multiplayer side of the equation.

The package price will fall in line with the other collections, as well. That checks in at $39.99. The whole thing will hit stores on October 23rd, 2012.

As awesome as it is to have the original Killzone in HD glory, there are other PlayStation exclusives that I’d like to see receive this collection treatment. How about Ape Escape or LocoRoco? I know Square Enix isn’t PlayStation, but how sweet would an HD upgrade of the original Kingdom Hearts games be. Killzone is fun and all, but the original title really doesn’t stand out as the best in the PlayStation exclusive sweet.

Will you be picking this one up?
