Broken Sword Destroys Kickstarter, Teases Beneath a Steel Sky 2

It didn’t even take two weeks, but Revolution Software’s Kickstarter Campaign has already raised the $400,000 needed to develop the fifth entry in the Broken Sword point-and-click adventure series, The Serpent’s Curse. The long running series is way overdue for a new entry, and the latest is sure to excite long time fans thanks to their involvement in the development process.

But why should the fun stop here? $400,000 is just the base amount needed to get the confirmed for release. There are still other exciting benchmarks needed to be met.

Reaching $500,000 will restore the director’s clippings, $650,000 will add North Africa and The Middle East as two new exotic locations, and $800,000 will allow Revolution Software to “realize their wildest ambitions” with the game.

Stick around for this one folks, because this Kickstarter event is about to set an unprecedented standard. Should a whopping $1 million be reached within 15 days, Revolution will not only be pledged to release the grandest vision of Broken Sword – The Serpent’s Revenge, but it will also greenlight Beneath a Steel Sky 2, a long awaited sequel to their cyberpunk classic. That’s two game’s from the same Kickstarter event!

Earlier in the summer, Watchmen co-creator Dave Gibbons confirmed that he and Revolution Software’s head creator Charles Cecil would be reuniting in the near future to create the sequel. Maybe this is what he was talking about.

Only 15 days to go. Time to start getting generous!
