In the middle of Amazon’s LA shindig, the company noted that its Kindle Fire — still its number one selling item — accounted for 22 percent of the U.S. tablet market in just nine months. That’s a pretty dandy figure, and shows that its aggressive approach to the tablet market definitely paid off. So much so, that Amazon announced three new Kindle Fires (THREE!), including a cheaper, updated Kindle Fire, and two Kindle Fire HDs, which we’re really excited to play around with. Amazon is clearly intent on capturing more of the tablet market; it’ll be interesting to see how its wares fare against the competition during the holiday season.
