The smartphone market is going to be huge for companies this holiday season. But the 7-inch tablet market could wind up being where the real battle takes place. With the Nexus 7 already out, and options likely coming out of Amazon and Apple, it’ll be an all out war for consumers dollars as the year comes to a close.
In the midst of all that fighting, and even among all the fantastic Windows tablets on the horizon, HTC is confident it can offer something substantial in the 7-inch space.
Rumored to be a follow up to the company’s Flyer, HTC is looking to unveil a tab that sports a HD display, Android 4.1 Android Jelly Bean, Snapdragon S4 processor, 3-megapixel camera and “thin as a screw.”
HTC would really need to implement some innovative tech to compete against what’s on the market, and what’s to come. A front and rear camera is nice, but that’s not enough to really be a gut punch to something like the Nexus 7. Buzz is starting to pick up for HTC’s movements; let’s hope a Flyer 2 is worth talking about when (if) it hits.
