According to a new report, the screens for the iPad mini will be supplied by both LG and AU Optronics.

According to anonymous sources that have spoken with Bloomberg, both LG and AU Optronics have been tapped to supply the screens for the oft rumored iPad mini. Meanwhile, the lamination coating will be done by both TPK Holding Co. and Yeh Cheng Technology, which happens to be a subsidiary of Foxconn. Sharp, which has made many of the displays for Apple in the pass, may make some of the future panels, but will not be involved in the initial wave of production according to three sources.

All of the sources confirmed that the screen will measure 7.85-inches diagonally.

It appears that Oct. is still the targeted announcement date for the iPad mini, but no firm date has yet to be mentioned.
