Flashback Friday: Knitting With Power

There have been a slew of stupid gaming peripherals over the years, but what the heck was Nintendo thinking in 1987 when it actually ponded releasing a knitting machine accessory for the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).

This image has been circulating for most of the week, and it has been confirmed as real, and it just making you wonder how things like this even get to the prototype stage. Former Nintendo of America employee Howard Phillips is the person who brought it into the world this week, and it just is one of those things you have to stare at in wonder and go, “The 1980’s was such an odd, odd time.”

Now … Come on Microsoft … where’s my knitting accessort for the Xbox 360.
