Pantech has for the past couple years comfortably resided in AT&T’s low-end shelf, producing phones that get the job done but don’t necessarily blow anyone away. In short, you wouldn’t find a Pantech handset outgunning a Samsung or HTC. But according to Engadget, that’s all about to change.
An anonymous source has provided the site with details of a Pantech device that’s reportedly aimed at challenging the more flagship offerings out there. Dubbed P9090, or Magnus, the device will allegedly sport a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 720p display, LTE and Ice Cream Sandwich. Additionally, the Magnus may hit with an 8-megapixel camera.
Otherwise, there’s not much other information surrounding the device. It’ll be interesting to see what the price lands at considering Pantech’s history of offering budget-friendly devices. Its design is run-of-the-mil; not great, but not so bad. We’ll be sure to let you know about pricing and availability as soon as the Magnus is official.
