The above photo is allegedly what Amazon’s new Kindle Fire will look like. Mere hours after last year’s device was found to be sold out at Amazon’s retail jungle, up pops the Seattle company’s next big tablet effort. A year of engineering and refinements and all we get is this? The bigger changes could wind up being more than skin deep.
According to The Verge, Amazon will indeed introduce two sizes — 7-inch and 10-inch — at its event on Sept. 6, confirming the numerous rumors over the past few months. Apparently, one other image was shared (let’s hope of better quality) that The Verge was asked not to publish. That image reportedly showed “a streamlined user interface with less “chrome.”
What’s immediately apparent is the Fire’s refined UI. It’s unclear if both sizes will be announced at the same time, and just how much the custom designed tab will differ from the long gone Fire of 2011.
The dawn of a new Fire is almost upon us. We’ll definitely keep an eye open for anything else that breaks.
