When Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3 releases this fall, gamers who snag it will be able to traverse a large and apparently insane set of islands. The video above is a brief example of the world that awaits.
Far Cry 1 and Far Cry 2, while both gorgeous games, packed mechanics that became tiresome over time. Far Cry 2, for instance, featured an annoyingly large world that was obnoxious to traverse and the silly malaria mechanic. Things like that kept gamers from really enjoying the environment around them. The lush terrain became nothing more than an obstacle between two points.
Hopefully the blend of wildlife, survival and natives keep things fresh throughout the (we assume) lengthy experience in Far Cry 3.
This game is set to drop for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms on December 4th of this year.
