Capcom Sets Date and Price for Marvel vs. Capcom Origins

I know I’m weird when I admit this, but, for my money, I like the original Marvel vs. Capcom games that were only playable in the arcades more than Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Maybe I see those games through my rose-tinted lenses of nostalgia, but I played them so much more than any of their sequels.

Now they’ve been packed together and are slated to launch for the Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network. Capcom has set both the price and launch dates for this digital fighting bundle. The games in the bundle are, of course, Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes.

Here’s the crazy part: Capcom has priced this bundle with a relative measure of sanity…strange for them, right? Marvel vs. Capcom Origins will sell for $14.99 (or 1200 Points on Xbox LIVE). Pricey, sure, but not pricey by Capcom’s $5 costume pack standards.

The game will launch on the PlayStation Network on September 25th of this year. Xbox LIVE Arcade shoppers will be able to buy it on September 26th.

Will you be a new challenger? [Insert cheesy laughter here.]
