Apple is said to be preparing an iPad mini event for sometime in October. That means we won’t get just one day — September 12, iPhone 5 day — of Apple-centric narcissism, but possibly one or two months. Sorry, competitors, but Apple wants to drown out all the noise coming from cooler, possibly better products — because it can!
And because the iPad mini just might be what consumers are waiting for — a smaller, more portable version of Apple’s incomparable tablet wunderkind. But more importantly, a more affordable gateway into the Cupertino company’s digital theme park. Kids, parents, students and even grand parents will want it.
This is what it will look like. Probably. We’ve seen mockups of the supposed 7.85-inch iPad mini before, but not nearly with the same frequency as Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5. So here you go: shrunken bezel, small dock connector, and itty bitty frame. It fits right in next to its iPad Mama and Papa.
