Google Brings the Nexus 7 to the Masses

Google is now advertising the Nexus 7 on one of the most valuable pieces of Web real estate there is: The Google front page.

As shocking as it may be to regular TechnoBuffalo readers, not everyone in the world reads tech blogs. So no matter how much we may show the Nexus 7 some love, there are more than likely millions of people out there that still don’t know it even exists. If there is one thing those millions of people do know, however, it is the Google home page.

With that in mind, Google added a little image to the most visited Web page in the world that lets them know “the playground is open” and that Google is selling a tablet of its own for $199.

With the initial supply issues out of the way, this seems like a completely logical way to let the world at large know about your device. Millions upon millions of people will see this advertisement today, and if even only a small percentage of them click through, and even fewer purchase one, you could be talking about a heck of a lot of sales.

Nicely played, Google.
