Kindle Touch Mysteriously Goes Unavailable From Amazon, Likely Hinting at Refresh

by Brandon Russell | August 27, 2012August 27, 2012 2:30 pm PDT

We’re one week out from Amazon’s special event on Sept. 6 and the company’s products are mysteriously (conveniently) starting to disappear from its online channels. Several rumors have suggested the company is preparing to revamp its whole lineup of Kindle products this fall, right on up to the Fire, so seeing Amazon’s supply dwindle isn’t all that surprising.

That said, if you planned on picking up the Wi-Fi or 3G models of the Kindle Touch, you’re currently out of luck. While Amazon’s timing isn’t the most ideal for students, there’s solace in knowing a revamped lineup is likely on the way. For now, if you’re set in your ways on purchasing a Touch, you’ll have to look toward brick-and-mortar options, or even eBay or Craigslist.

I’d suggest exercising a bit of patience to see what Amazon has up its sleeve next week.
