The HTC Proto has gone from tangled mystery to case closed in almost record time. Following a brief glimpse at the device late last week, a number of retailers on Monday outed the handset’s true identity as the Desire X. Basically, it’s all but confirmed we’ll be seeing this mid-range “One” device get an announcement at IFA.
According to ePrice.com.hk, who has several pictures of the smallish handset, the specs lineup with everything that’s been rumored at thus far: 4.0-inch WVGA display, Android 4.0 with Sense 4.0, 5-megapixel camera, Beats Audio and 1GHz Snapdragon processor.
It’s still unclear which carrier will pick the device up. But if it promises to fall in the middle of HTC’s famed One line, perhaps we could expect a fairly low price — something that’s always welcome going into the busy holiday period.
