Nokia “Phi” and “Arrow” Windows Phone 8 Devices Allegedly Headed to AT&T

Nokia and Microsoft are holding a joint press conference on Sept. 5th during which we expect plenty of news surrounding Windows Phone 8. We were already expecting Nokia to unveil new handsets, especially since its Lumia 900 is beginning to feel a bit dated, but now those expectations are locked down.

The Verge┬ásaid Thursday that Nokia will unveil two new Windows Phone 8 devices under its Lumia umbrella of smartphones. The code names for the phones are currently “Phi” and the “Arrow.” The Nokia Phi, like the Lumia 900, will serve as AT&T’s new flagship smartphone and will feature the same polycarbonate body that the Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 offer. The mid-range Arrow is expected to fall on both T-Mobile and AT&T. We’re imagining this device will resemble a slightly upgraded Lumia 710.

Verizon will reportedly launch a Windows Phone 8 device this year and, while we were expecting it to be a flagship device, The Verge┬ásaid Verizon will instead launch the “Atlas,” which is merely a tweaked version of the Arrow.
