There were reports recently that suggested RIM would stop development on its BlackBerry Enterprise Server product. RIM says that’s not the case at all.
The company spoke out against those reports Wednesday and said that BlackBerry Enterprise Server 10 will launch next year. “BES 10 will be the ultimate management solution for all BlackBerry platform devices, as well as iOS and Android devices,” RIM explained to PhoneScoop in an email. “BES 10 will launch simultaneously with the first BlackBerry 10 devices in [Q1] 2013. For existing BES customers, RIM will provide an upgrade to BES 10 in order to ensure that our enterprise customers have the most up-to-date technology available to manage their devices.”
BES allows IT departments to deploy and remotely manage employee smartphones. RIM recently delayed BlackBerry 10 to the first quarter of 2013.
