iPhone 5 Launch: Verizon Blocks Out Vacations From September 21 – September 30 (Updated)

Verizon Store

Verizon has reportedly asked all employees to avoid taking vacations beginning on September 21st, another hint that the iPhone 5 will indeed launch on that day. The blackout allegedly lasts from September 21 until the next Friday, September 30, TechCrunch said. This means that Verizon wants all hands on deck so, likely, cater to the crowds of customers who are going to line up for the device.

We’re expecting the iPhone 5 will be announced by Apple during a press event on September 12th, possibly alongside the iPad mini, and that it will pack a new industrial design, a larger display, and a brand new 9-pin Dock Connector. iPhone 5 pre-orders are expected to begin on the day of the announcement, too.

Apple hasn’t yet confirmed the event, or the iPhone 5 for that matter, but all signs are now definitely pointing that something big is coming in September. Verizon Wireless was not immediately available for comment.

Update: Not so fast, apparently employees aren’t aware of this just yet.
