Preview of Skype for Windows 8 Leaks, Shows off New Digs

skype-preview-for-windows-8Skype, one of Microsoft’s biggest assets, is unsurprisingly receiving the Modern UI treatment in preparation for Windows 8’s arrival. Neowin managed to acquire a leaked version of the app, and graciously captured screens to show off how it looks in action. As expected, it’s very clean and fits perfectly within the Windows 8 ecosystem.

The app isn’t quite finished, Neowin said, though handling was apparently “relatively solid.” If that’s the case, even though this is preview software, one would assume the app may be finalized in time for the release of Windows 8 and the Windows Surface tablets in October.

With the app preview kicking around internal Microsoft channels, we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for any further developments regarding Skype’s arrival.
