More than just slinking through the snow covered woods or leaping from building to building in Boston, Assassin’s Creed III will take Connor (the newest hero) onto the high seas.
That’s right, naval battles. While the whole idea of taking combat to the open water is a bit odd for the current route of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, we like it a whole lot more than what we saw out of last year’s tower defense system. In fact, the tower defense in Revelations was probably among the worst mechanics in the entire history of the brand.
If the mechanics work well, and the cinematic nature of the experience is as good as it seems in the trailer above, the naval conflicts in Assassin’s Creed III could very well be one of the best new features. Or, it could sink.
Sorry, I had to.
What do you think of this new gameplay mechanic bound for Assassin’s Creed III?
