Apple Expected to Rollout One Last Bumper Case for iPhone 4/4S Ahead of iPhone 5 [Updated]

Red iPhone Bumper case

In just a few weeks, Apple is set to announce its sixth-generation iPhone, but that doesn’t mean the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S will meet their demise. The former will almost certainly replace the iPhone 3GS as Apple’s “budget” smartphone, and the iPhone 4S will simply become a more affordable alternative to the iPhone 5.

And for those of you who decide you’d prefer to save a little cash and pick up one of these older models, it looks like you’ll have a brand new Bumper case to go with it. 9to5Mac reports that according to “very reliable sources,” Apple is gearing up to release a new red Bumper case to add to its existing lineup:

According to very reliable sources, Apple is about to release a red colored iPhone Bumper case. Apple’s inventory system just calls it “Red,” so we’re not sure if it’s PRODUCT(RED) certified. But with Apple’s ties to the organization, we’d assume it is.

It’s unclear whether Apple will release a Bumper lineup for the iPhone 5, or whether it will launch a brand new case for the device. But it certainly seems as though it isn’t about to give up on the Bumper anytime soon.

UPDATE: These are now available to purchase from the Apple online store, priced at $29.
