Apple is already expected to hold its iPhone 5 press event on September 12th, and now a report has surfaced that claims the company will begin accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 5 on the same day.
It’s also possible that Apple will announce the iPad mini, as well as refreshed iPods with new 9-pin Dock Connectors, on that date, but it’s unclear when those products will be available to consumers. iMore, which reported the story on Monday, said that the iPhone 5 will launch a week later, on or around October 5th, in international markets. The device is expected to be in U.S. stores on September 21st, too.
The move would be a bit irregular for Apple, which didn’t take pre-orders for the iPhone 4S on the day it was announced. Instead, last year consumers had to wait three days before Apple began accepting early orders for the phone.
