HTC has been a little slow when it comes to rolling out Android 4.0 updates for its older handset. But the Taiwanese company says that it “expects” all of its Ice Cream Sandwich releases to drop by the end of August.
In reply to a comment regarding the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Desire S on its official Facebook page, HTC said:
Thanks for remaining so patient. We’re still working on getting the updates ready. We expect to have updates issues by the end of August for all devices that have been announced.
Another reply, in response to a comment regarding the HTC Thunderbolt, the company reaffirmed its plans:
Yes, The Thunderbolt is still set to receive ICS. We’re still planning to finish updates for all announced devices by the end of August. Thanks for remaining so patient!
Not only is this good news for users with devices like the Droid Incredible 2 and the Thunderbolt, who were already expecting an August upgrade. But it should also put minds at ease for owners of the Rhyme and Desire S, who were originally promised a release in June or July.
