Now that Sprint’s LTE network is finally up and running, you would think that the carrier would be solely focused on LTE-capable handsets. However, this isn’t the case.
At CTIA this past May, we went hands-on with the Kyocera Rise and, thanks to a trusted source, we can now confirm that this handset is coming to Sprint on August 19 for $19.99 with a new two-year service agreement. Our source also confirmed that the Kyocera Rise will eventually support Sprint’s Direct Connect push-to-talk in the not-so-distant future.
This 3G-only slider features a 3.5-inch HVGA display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a 3.2-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, a 1,500mAh battery and Android 4.0.
The Rise may be far from luxurious, but considering its price point and Sprint’s unlimited data plans, this thrifty slider will give bargain shoppers a little bang for their buck.
