Thinking that having tons of hype and great studio behind Dishonored wasn’t enough, publisher Bethesda Softworks announced in a press release a voice cast that goes beyond star-studded territory and into oscar-winning – not to mention Golden-Globe winning and Emmy-nominated.
Academy Award-winner Susan Sarandon will appear as “Granny Rags,” a deranged former aristocrat. You may remember her from that Lonely Island video. Golden Globe award-winning character actor Brad Dourif will play the role of the inventor responsible for the sweet mask the main character wears. Dourif is probably best known for the role of Grima Wormtongue in the Lord of the Rings films. Carrie Fisher–yes, that Carrie Fisher–will be spreading propaganda throughout the city. John Slattery of Mad Men plays one of the main character Corvo’s allies. Michael Madsen is remembered by most film geeks as the guy who cut the cop’s ear off in Reservoir Dogs, but in Dishonored he appears as an assassin. The game also features Chloe Grace Moretz of Kick-Ass and Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey.
Getting away from the voice-casting but still in the realm of audio, the press release also revealed the composer behind the game’s score to be Daniel Licht of Dexter fame.
A cast like this doesn’t promise a great game, but it suggests a script good enough to pull in actors who can tell a good script when they see it. When Dishonored hits this October, the epic cast is just one more reason to be excited.
