Pictures speak a thousand words but video speak… a million? An alleged iPhone 5 front panel has popped up on film yet again, and this time the folks at iPhone5Parts.net compared its measurements directly to an iPhone 4S.
As we expected, from the leaked parts, anyway, the iPhone 5 display panel is thinner than the front panel on the iPhone 4S by 0.1mm. That’s not very noticeable in reality, but it makes a bit of sense considering that the iPhone 5 is supposed to adopt a new, thinner in-cell technology. Obviously, Apple is trying to cut the thickness of the phone down in every area possible.
The 7-minute video also reveals that the iPhone 5’s home button is 0.3mm smaller in diameter than the current button the iPhone 4S, which seems like a somewhat weird and unnecessary change. The area below the screen is also 2.6mm thinner than on the iPhone 4S, which corroborates with rumors that the iPhone 5 will adopt a larger 4-inch display.
