Wow, we didn’t expect to see this coming. A Samsung spokesperson recently revealed to Reuters that the company will unveil its new Galaxy Note (largely dubbed the Galaxy Note II among media) during a press event in Berlin on August 29th. Despite other reports to the contrary, that’s exactly when we figured Samsung was going to make its announcement. The company has a press event in New York City on August 15th, but our guess is that will be focused around the firm’s new Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
This is about as solid of a confirmation as you can get: “We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29,” a Samsung spokesperson told Reuters.
We’re expecting a quad-core Exynos processor, the same HD Super AMOLED display, a chic Galaxy S III-style form factor, hopefully Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and much more. Honestly, we’re pretty pumped. We’ll be in Berlin reporting live on August 29th, so stay tuned for a full hands-on report and a video of the Galaxy Note II.
