Huntington Beach’s annual U.S. Open of Surfing perfectly captures the vibe of Bruce Brown’s The Endless Summer. The event attracts bodies from all across the globe to witness man and nature synchronize their movements in a graceful performance known as surfing.
I’ve tried surfing only once, yet I live minutes from the beach. Go figure.
TechnoBuffalo will attend the U.S. Open today in Huntington Beach, California to get some rays and also meet up with Olympus, which is partnering with TransWorld Surf magazine as a sponsor of the event. The two have created an “interactive surf photo experience booth,” which will feature product demos, product loans and sales.
Attendees will have the opportunity to get their hands on the mirrorless Olympus OM-D EM-5 — a camera we thoroughly enjoyed — along with the Tough TG-1 iHS and PEN cameras from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In addition to the interactive booth, Olympus and SocialPix will offer a “photo encounter” that’ll allow fans to pose in a simulated cover of TransWorld Surf magazine.
We’ll report back with any pertinent information from the sandy beaches of Southern California. If you stop by the Olympus booth, you’ll have the chance to win a custom surfboard or Olympus cameras. Or, you know, you could just enjoy the beach vibes and relax on the shore.
