Apparently, Square Enix is taking this “Decade of Final Fantasy XIII” super serious you guys. The next chapter in The Lightning Saga is already underway as Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase explained to Famitsu Magazine.

No details are known about the latest adventure of the female Cloud Strife wannabe, but Square Enix is already prepping a huge announcement about the game this coming September 1st at the Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Party. Will it be Final Fantasy XIII-3, making it the first time a game has hit the trilogy mark within the main series? Or will Lightning finally get her own side series, giving the brand a chance to move on from her mixed reception?

Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada has already told the world he doesn’t believe Final Fantasy XIII lived up to the standards Final Fantasy VII set, so why would he allow Kitase to drag out this character any further? Is it really going to take an entire decade for this guy to realize the only one in love with his creation is himself?
