Official Google Nexus 7 Cases Revealed - Bluetooth Keyboard

Yesterday, we had a glimpse at a few new accessories that are apparently coming down the pipeline for the Nexus 7, including two new official cases and a dock. Now, four additional cases and an “official screen protector” (really?) have been leaked. According to Mobilefun, ASUS and Google will soon launch a rotating stand case, a stand case, an official folio case and — the one we’re most excited about — a Bluetooth keyboard case.

As we pointed out yesterday, however, the Nexus 7 doesn’t allow its users to use the homescreen in landscape mode. We’re hoping releases a patch that enables this functionality in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which would make several of the rumored accessories much more useful.

The rotating stand case is reportedly build out of durable leather and will have some sort of hinge that allows the tablet to be rotated between portrait and landscape modes. The official stand case will prop the Nexus 7 up for consuming media, such as movies, and will apparently come in at an affordable price. The folio case sports a magnetic sensor that will automatically turn the screen on and off and will also offer a feature that enables it to act as a stand in various angles. Mobilefun said it will also include an integrated wallet.

The Bluetooth keyboard case will reportedly offer a full QWERTY keyboard that’s dust proof and spill proof. It also has an integrated stand but, again, we’re hoping there’s a better way for us to use the home screen in landscape mode. It seems silly that, if we had the Nexus 7 in this case, the homescreen would always be in portrait mode.

Finally, ASUS and Google plan to offer an “official screen protector.” Super exciting, we know. Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the products will be released or how much they will cost. Check out the full gallery of accessories below.
