Galaxy Nexus Free With Two-Year Contract at Best Buy Soon (Update: It’s Official)

The smartphone market is rife with excellent Android devices right now: the HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S III and Samsung Galaxy Note are just a few of the high-end devices. But probably the best choice, at least if you a shot that you’ll get the latest iteration of Android soon, is the Galaxy Nexus. And boy, if you were hesitant to put down your money on the device before, Best Buy is making an offer that will be very difficult to refuse.

A document sent to TechnoBuffalo reveals the big box retailer is preparing to offer the device on Verizon for FREE with a new two-year contract. In addition, folks looking to join a family plan can also pick the device up at no cost, which is perfect for those new shared plans from Verizon Wireless.

The almost nine month old handset, while not the most well spec’d phone around, is still a contender for best Android device on the market because of the support it gets from Google. Getting it for free is just icing on the cake. Hopefully Verizon pushes a Jelly Bean update soon, too.

Update: Well it looks like the deal is official now, as reflected on Best Buy’s website.
