Samsung took its role as an official partner of the London 2012 Olympics seriously, but it’s doubtful anyone thought that would mean its devices would show up in the opening ceremonies.

If you were watching the opening ceremonies last night of the XXX Summer Olympics from London, and thought you recognized the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S III being used in the segment called, “Frankie and June say … Thanks Tim,” you were absolutely correct. Samsung released a video where Martin Green, Head of Ceremonies for the London 2012 Olympic Games, was interviewed and discussed the role the devices played in the production.

When Samsung introduced the Galaxy S III in London on May 3, we knew the device would be connected to the Olympics, just not to this extent.  It makes you wonder where else the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S III could show up over the next two weeks as the Olympics continue.
