ZTE doesn’t dominate consumer mindshare the way a Samsung or HTC does, but that doesn’t mean the company is content to sit in the shadows. In an attempt to carve out a marketshare of its own, ZTE is reportedly planning to introduce a handset in October that sounds like it could definitely attract some attention.
A Sprint document acquired by TalkAndroid suggests the ZTE Flash, an as of yet unannounced device, will arrive on October 14. Specs, you ask? Android 4.0, 4.5-inch HD IPS (1280×720) display, LTE, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 12.6-megapixel rear cam and NFC support to top it all off.
Not a bad sounding device — for now. In over two months time? It’s awfully brave of ZTE to release a handset around the same time as the next iPhone. Not to mention we’ll probably see some even better Android handsets later this year, ones that’ll hopefully come stock with Jelly Bean. Perhaps, though, the device will be unveiled to have a low-level price under the $99 range, which could be fantastic for newcomers.
