Project Glass Has Nothing on Instaglasses

Instaglasses-FiltersWe’ve already seen a nifty Instagram camera concept, but this recent find peers further into the future. German designer Markus Gerke has come up with Instaglasses, a concept that seems like it could be Project Glass’s more popular and fun-loving sibling. Although this is only a concept that lives in mockup world for now, Gerke’s designs are highly alluring.

Not only are Instaglasses similar in appearance to the Instagram application icon, but they power on by pressing the “Insta” button on between the lenses. On the right stalk of the glasses there lives a capture button and set of arrows that shuffle between Instagram filters. That’s right, the wearer of Instaglasses sees each filter in the lenses of the glasses before capturing an image. Think of it as Google Glass with an Instagram application.

Images can then be uploaded to Instagram by what I assume would be a wireless or mobile data connection. Gerke says, “Life is beautiful, even more beautiful with filters.” I couldn’t agree more! Head to the German designer’s website for more on the Instaglasses.
