Sprint Galaxy Nexus Set to Receive Software Update, Sorry it isn’t Jelly Bean

Following in the footsteps of Verizon, Sprint will be rolling out a non-Jelly Bean software update for its version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Shared with us by a trusted source, this software push will modify the device’s received signal strength indicator (RSSI), add support for Sprint TV and Wi-Fi and LTE settings will now default to being turned on. Once installed, the device should display a software version of: L700.FG01.

The festivities begin on July 26th, we’re being told the update will deploy in waves and it may take several days to reach everyone.

We know that this isn’t the Jelly Bean update that Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus customers have been hoping for, but dedicated product support is always a good thing.
