The release date for Mac OS X Mountain Lion has been announced: Wednesday, July 25. (Also known as tomorrow)

Apple just announced the release date for the next version of Mac OS X, Mountain Lion, and it looks like it will be hitting the App Store on Wednesday.

If you want to make sure you’re ready for it, check your Mac against the following list:

  • iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)
