Digg is being reborn from “scratch” into a new site, it was announced on Friday. And we’ll see it in only six weeks.
The once great social news kingpin was recently acquired by Betaworks, which purchased the website for a mere $500,000. According to rethinkdigg.com, the project will roll out v1 with the hopes of “(re)making Digg the best place to find, read and share the most interesting and talked about stories on the Internet.”
There’s also a survey link on the site, where users are asked to evaluate the quality of Digg, along with questions about news sources and what smartphone users currently carry. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Digg’s progress to see if the site can recapture its glory days.
