16GB Nexus 7 Sold out from Google Play

Google Nexus 7 Front

If you’re having trouble trying to find a Nexus 7, you’re definitely not alone. Google’s new tablet appears to be a mega-success and is reportedly selling out at retailers across the country. As of right now, Google Play is only selling the $199 8GB model. The slightly more expensive $249 16GB model appears to be out of stock and is listed as “coming soon.”

Major retailers such as GameStop, Staples, Office Depot and Sam’s Club are said to be fighting to get more units of the popular tablet back in stock, but have yet to provide a timeframe, according to Slash Gear. We tried calling a few retailers and GameStop specifically told us that its next wave of Nexus 7s will be available on September 30th.  However, if patience isn’t your strong suit and you’re willing to shell out a little more cash, you can try your luck at eBay, which reportedly has auctions for the tablet selling around 30 – 40 percent higher than its regular price.
