We received a report from a reader that Verizon Wireless’ network is down in Davenport, IA and a quick search on Twitter shows that plenty of subscribers are complaining about similar situations. It looks like the carrier’s data network is down in the The Quad Cities as well as in parts of Rhode Island, too. It’s unclear what’s causing the outage at this point but several Twitter posts are suggesting it’s related to a power outage of sorts. Let us know how Verizon is performing in your area. We are reaching out to Verizon Wireless and will keep you updated with more information.
Update: KWQC news from The Quad Cities says the outage there is related to a power switch that went down in Rockford. One of our commenters, however, says that it’s a “perfectly sunny day” there and that a power outage seems strange.
Update 2: Our awesome readers, (you folks below in the comments) have also alerted us that the network was down in Lansing, Michigan until about 2:00 p.m. local time. It’s also currently down in northwest Florida.
Update 3: Verizon confirmed with TechnoBuffalo that the issue in Rockford, Illinois has been corrected but that there are “isolated sites in Pensacola, Florida that [it is] currently investigating.”
