When Samsung announced the Galaxy S III, the manufacturer mentioned that a 64GB model was in the works. The high capacity model of Samsung’s flagship smartphone was supposed to eventually follow the release of the 16GB and 32GB models of the phone. However, now that the Galaxy S III is finally here, some retailers have started to cancel orders for the 64GB model of the device. This has caused many to speculate that Samsung itself has canceled its plans for 64GB model Galaxy S III. That’s not the case, however.
“The 64GB model of the GALAXY S III will be available during the second half of this year,” a Samsung spokesperson told AndroidCentral. “The market availability and timing may vary and will be determined at the time of release.”
The 64GB Galaxy S III is definitely coming, but perhaps it will only be available in select markets. Since it’s already the second half of the year, we could very well see a 64GB model Galaxy S III any day now.
