Xperia tipo FCC shot

The Sony Xperia tipo isn’t going to pose a threat to any flagship devices, but it may end up being a nice little starter phone.

The Xperia tipo is expected to debut next month through out Europe, and Engadget got a gander of it as it was passing through its FCC certification.  This little guy  – literally, it only has a 3.2-inch (480×320) TFT display – will be sporting an 800MHz Snapdragon processor with support for GPRS/EDGE/GSM 850 and 1900 as well as WCDMA 850 and 1900.

The most intriguing thing about the device is it will be running Ice Cream Sandwich and there will be a dual-SIM slot version, so it might make a nice travel phone if you are required to go overseas on business quite a bit.

No official word on a U.S. release as of yet, but it could possibly end up on AT&T.
