Facebook’s official application for Android has received a new update this morning, which delivers a number of new features, including support for front-facing cameras on handsets that carry them, and new messaging features. The update also promises to make app navigation much snappier, which will be welcome news to all users, I’m sure.
In addition to front-facing camera support, which makes it even easier to upload images of your own face, Facebook for Android version 1.9.7 includes new messaging features that “let you switch between conversations, include friends of friends, share bigger photos, and see who’s available.”
This update also brings “various bug fixes,” security improvements, and makes app login and navigation faster. It’s not for everyone, however. If your device isn’t running Android 2.2 or above, you won’t be able to install the latest update.
You can find Facebook for Android version 1.9.7 in Google Play now.
