“Vertex” Benchmarks Possibly Reveal HTC’s Next Tablet

HTC has gone on record to say that it’s getting back into the tablet business. Recently a benchmark test, published by NenaMark, shows an HTC device running Android 4.0.3 listed as the “Vertex,” sporting a 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor with a display resolution of 1,280 x 752, which could be HTC’s next “big” thing. We say “big” because the 1,280 x 720 display should be noted as being bigger than HTC’s One X 720p display. While the details here are slim, it’s pretty safe to assume that this up and comer will be skinned with HTC’s Sense.

Rumblings of a Kindle Fire 2, a budget friendly iPad and (an already announced and pre-order available) Google’s Nexus 7 due to drop any day now, HTC’s forthcoming tablet definitely faces heavy competition. Hopefully this time around HTC will learn from previous expensive mistakes and give consumers a high-end competitively priced alternative.
