ZTE has unveiled its latest budget smartphone this morning, and it will be available from Virgin Media in the U.K. from today. Priced at just £49.99 (approx. $78) on pay-as-you-go, the ZTE Kis is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and features a 3.5-inch display with a 480 x 320 resolution.
It also packs an 800MHz processor, 256MB of RAM, and a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with 2x digital zoom. It has just 512MB of storage internally, but it does come with a 2GB microSD card in the box, and you can replace that with a 32GB card if you choose to. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and 3G.
The ZTE Kis measures 11.5mm thick, and weighs 120 grams. It also features a 1,400 mAh battery.
Of course, specifications like those aren’t going to rival your best friend’s new Galaxy S III, and you’ll probably find that a lot of the latest Android games won’t run on the Kis. You can also be sure that the device won’t be on the list for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade.
But having said that, this device is just £49.99, which is a bargain if you’re looking for a cheap Android-powered smartphone. And what’s more, Virgin Media is giving Kis users 1GB of data for free for the next 12 months.
You can pick up the ZTE Kis from Virgin Media today if you’re in the U.K.
