When it comes to television sets, it’s usually go big or go home. But could such a gung-ho principle be applied to tablets? Japanese electronics maker Kouziro sure seems to think so and has launched a massive 21.5-inch Android tablet known as the FT103. This billboard-size slab may not be the first of its kind, but it’s still a sight to see.
Tipping the scale at a hefty 11 pounds with its attached AC power adapter, the FT103 features a 21.5-inch SmartDisplay (1920 x 1080), a TI OMAP 4429 processor, HDMI-in and Android 4.0. While the FT103 is massive in stature, it comes up short in regards of storage capacity, only packing 8GB of internal memory, which cannot be expanded. We’re assuming that Kouziro designed the FT103 with the intentions of it staying indoors, because the device also lacks a battery and is solely dependent on a power outlet. We’ve got to ask, when is a tablet no longer a tablet?
However, if your home or office computer setup is just aching for a monitor that happens to run Android, then the FT103 can be yours for ¥34,800 (around $438) when it goes on sale later this month.
