Google’s Nexus 7 may hit retail stores as early as this Thursday, a leaked Office Depot document suggests. Ever since the device was unveiled at the search giant’s I/O conference late last month, Google has been pretty coy on nailing down an exact launch date, but it could be upon is in less than 48 hours.
The Office Depot document says the retailer started accepting pre-sales today, with orders expected to ship on July 12. Additionally, availability in 341 Office Depot locations may begin to arrive on the 12th as well, so you can just as easily walk into a store and pick up a Nexus 7. Only the $249 16GB iteration is listed, so those looking to splash down for the 8GB model might be out of luck for now.
The alleged release follows close behind a change in the Google Play store this morning that pegs a 1-2 week shipping schedule for the device, so it certainly seems the stars are aligning. We’re less than two days away. Not sure if the Nexus 7 is for you? Check out our full review to see if the device is worth the $200.
