It’s been quite some time since HTC released a new tablet, with the Taiwanese company choosing to focus its efforts on its latest range of One smartphones. But it seems it certainly hasn’t given up on slates. In fact, the company has confirmed to PC Advisor that a follow up to the Flyer will “definitely” arrive.
HTC did not disclose the tablet’s specifications, or provide any indication when the device may arrive. A spokesperson did say, however, that it “will make sure it has a unique selling point” in an effort to better compete with rival devices, such as the iPad and the Google Nexus 7.
Unlike previous HTC tablets, this one will be making its way to the U.K., according to PC Advisor. And we can assume that it will be powered by Android 4.1 Jelly Bean when it does.
HTC hasn’t had great success with the 7-inch Flyer in the U.K., largely due to the fact that the device launched with a staggering £600 (approx. $933) price tag, making it more than £200 (approx. $311) more expensive than the 9.7-inch iPad.
