Microsoft: Windows 8 Will Hit Retail in Late October

Microsoft - Live Event - Windows 8 - Tablet - 004According to Microsoft’s Tami Reller, Windows 8 will Release to Manufacturing in early August, with an expected retail launch toward the tail end of October. Speaking at the Redmond company’s annual Worldwide Partner Conference, Reller said Microsoft is “on track” to finalizing the OS, which will run current Windows 7 owners just $14.99 for Windows 8 Pro. October has long been considered to be the month of reckoning for Microsoft’s Metro UI inspired OS, and it appears we’re just a few months away from experiencing the company’s biggest leap yet in the desktop space.
