While we’re sure no one is really all that surprised, it’s still interesting to note that the unreleased Nexus 7 has already been rooted.

The new tablet from Google was handed out to attendees at the recent Google I/O conference, and considering the vast majority of those folks are developers, it isn’t too shocking that the device has already been rooted and a new ROM is available.  For a little added fun, that is also a kernel out there for those of you who wish to overclock the Nexus 7.

You have to say this for the Android customization folks out there, they sure don’t believe in wasting any time.

Google has still yet to announce a release date for the Nexus 7 beyond “July,” but Staples in Canada is saying it will be July 23.  If this is true, you don’t have too awfully long to wait to try this out for yourselves.
